The national academy of engineering invites all students girls and boys in grades 3 12 to submit an essay to the 2016 engineergirl essay contest entitled ldquo responsible engineering. Rdquo winners in each grade category will receive the prizes: first place winners will be awarded $500. The ocean awareness student contest is for middle school and high school students, 6th 12 grade. Under the guidance of a project coordinator, children work in teams to write and illustrate their own book either fiction or nonfiction.

There will be one grand prize winner from each category fiction and nonfiction will be selected for publication and will receive a credit of 5,0 scholastic dollars. Twenty five books will be selected as honorable mention winners and will receive a credit of 500 scholastic dollars. this contest has a $5 entry fee. submit your original writing essays, interviews, poems, plays, short stories, etc. Ten winners and a handful of noteworthy entries will be published in the autumn 2016 issue. Winners will receive an honor award certificate, a subscription to skipping stones magazine and five nature and/or multicultural books. You may write about any subject matter, but it must be in english, not over 21 lines, and it must be your original work. Judging is done in different age categories winners will receive $25, publication, and a free copy of the published anthology. Submission deadline dates for 2015 for this essay contest are april 16th and august 19th. Kids in the usa and canada who are in grades 4 12 may enter this writing contest by submitting an original essay on any subject and is no longer than 250 words. Winners in each category will receive a $25 check, publication, and a copy of the published book.

Stone soup welcomes year round submissions by children ages 13 and younger of your stories, poems, book reviews, and illustrations. Selected submissions of stories, poems, and book reviews are paid $40 each illustrators are paid $25 per illustration. Highlights for children welcomes your drawings, poems, jokes, riddles, tongue twisters, stories, science questions, book reviews, creatures nobody has ever seen.

Recipes, craft ideas, letters to dear highlights, and dinosaur drawings, jokes, and question submissions. Stories, poems, and drawings must be your very own work, not copied from a book, magazine, or anywhere else. Although highlights does not pay for these contributions, wouldn rsquo t it be great to see your work published.

Material may include cartoons, songs, stories between 500 and 1200 words, puzzles, photographs, artwork, games, editorials, poetry, and plays, as well as any other creative work that can fit in the pages of the magazine or on the website. As long as it's creative, they're interested! if your work is selected you will receive a free copy of the ck issue in which your work appears. This website runs several writing contests for kids per year, so check back often. Overall winner will receive a $50 amazon gift card and two runners up will receive $25 amazon gift cards.

Short stories must be no longer than 1,0 words and must begin with one of three lines provided on the contest website. Letters about literature lal is a state and national writing contest sponsored by the maryland humanities arts council that encourages young readers in grades 4 to 12 to respond to an author through a letter expressing how that author and book changed their worldview and themselves. American pet products association is sponsoring a poetry contest about animals called pets add life for grades 3 8. Montgomery county md students have opportunity to be published with bethesda youth writing contest. The contest is open to students in grades k 8 who live or attend school in montgomery county.
