most coffee places do offer reusable cups for purchase and will honor them if you request to fill them up instead of a new paper cup. Most decent quality reusable coffee mugs are approximately $10 $15, in fact, i just purchased a new one because my old one broke.

reusable cups reduce resources required. Plus no forests are actually cut to make paper cups, forests are cut for lumber while tree farms grow the paper. Eliminating paper use wont save a single tree in an old, or even 2nd, growth forest.

Huge forests tree farms would dissappear as they are plowed under for the next cash crop.
