When it comes to either watching movies or reading books the latter is, by far, the better option. In countless situations books have been made into movies but in each instance the book prevails. For example, in ‘one flew over the cuckoo's nest' by ken kesey the setting takes place on a ward in a hospital. Just a hospital with mental patients strolling around doctors, nurses and aides going about their duties. The book lets the reader feel what it's like to be inside the body and mind of a mental patient. The author does this by describing intense hallucinations the narrator, bromden, experiences. Bromden sees the ward as part of this huge syndicate that works on people and turns them into selfless automatons.

Some might argue that the movie is outdated and with the advances in the entertainment business perhaps a movie more similar to the book could be created now or in the future. A purple star is, by all means, impossible but there it is bright as day letting off it's bright purple glow in your mind. On the contrary movies might be more visually dynamic, in that the scene is there for you and it has the talented actors making their character as like the book and life like as they can.

People could say there isn 039 t anything that you can get from a book that you can 039 t get from a tv faster. And i don 039 t know about you but when i read a book that 039 s been made as a film, i can 039 t get the film out my head as i read, which may not be a good thing because then you have you expectations set out for you and you can 039 t let you imagination run free. Also i think it 039 s a little sad when someone says someone love what ever film but doesn 039 t even know it 039 s a book first another thing i don 039 t like is when a book is made into a movie and then made a book again but as the film, i don 039 t know why but i really hate that. Since the oscar deadline coincides with new year's eve and a bookish pedigree is a sure way to get academy members' attention, studios turn to acclaimed novels for their holiday fodder. Ask any reader who has seen the movie version of a favorite novel, and the answer will usually be, the book was better.

The story are formed in the same structure regardless to it is a book or a movie. Despite the similarities, reading books and watching movies give details through different ways.

On the other hand, movies give a particular picture of the story to the audiences, and the audiences get details through visual and hearing. The audiences can only get what is shown in the movies but cant think outside the box for more creative thinking. The readers can have different feedbacks to the story, but the audiences can only agree with the movies therefore, reading books and watching movies make the readers or audiences response differently.

Watching movies can save a lot of time, but reading books could take a long time depending on the speed of reading. A movie will take about two hours, but reading a book could take more than two weeks for some readers. People think reading books and watching movies are the same, so they will choose to watch the movie for their times sake.

Watching the movie can give them a better picture about the story because it is visual and is within a shorter period of time therefore, the audience ca n remember the story easier. Besides, movies keep on renewing every week, but a new book needs to be written and published which will take a long time. Although watching movies seems to be more convenient, but people are still reading books. The reason is that books give more details to the readers and usually reveal more characters that are not shown in the movies. Movie producers need to cut away some details because they need to squeeze everything into one to two hours. Books can attract the reader to continue reading and give some prolonged suspenses so that the reader will be hooked or tempted to finish the book to find out the truth.

Reading books can improve the readers writing and reading skills, but watching movies brings nothing else but entertainment. Before movies were invented, most of the people read books to entertain and improve themselves.
