The rice, darkened to the color of light brown, housed the pieces of yellow and white scrambled egg, the cubed pieces of salted, cured ham, and shreds of imitation shrimp meat. The stir fried vegetables were made up of carrots, long two inch green string beans, and the head and partial stems of broccoli. The shreds of carrot were intermingled between the broccoli and the string beans. The roasted orange glazed chicken was sweet and spicy, spicy enough so that with every few bites i had to sip some cold water.

The faint, bitter smell of broccoli came in second, while the a meal just wouldn't be complete without an assortment of beverages. For instance, the smoothie's tart orange smell and the kool aid's smooth black cherry smell served to calm my taste buds from the workout that they had just received. Rich creamy smooth and firm from the butter and milk that had been beaten into it to add to its flavor and smooth texture. I could smell the aroma of beef, garlic, and herbs and spices drifting up from it into my nose.

Then using another spoon i scooped up spinach dripping white sauce and put it on the plate beside the potato. The dark green spinach was hot, the white sauce melted and it contrasted with the creamy potato. Several other pieces followed that one onto my plate, the rich brown meat, contrasting with the dark green spinach and creamy white potato. The succulent meat gleaming with a coating of rich gravy and the aroma of gravy, garlic spinach and potato blending in the steam rising from my plate. I scooped up gravy from the bowl and trickled it over the white potato catching the scent of red wine.

Now the decision where to start, so i bit into the fresh crisp roll and tasted its warm soft texture and the melting butter. The potato was smooth, with a taste of butter over powered with the tangy gravy, its garlic and hint of good red wine in it. Smooth with its vegetable texture and plain white sauce it softened the taste of the gravy.

I had always thought that a new york slice was served on a paper plate intended for a quick late night bite on your way between watering holes.
